Chief and council
Chief and Eight Councillors (1 council per hundred members) are able to provide leadership to Seine River First Nation that oversee the work of the organization directly and indirectly where required through the Director of Services.
Please note that for the 2022-2024 term of the current Chief & Council, there is one Chief and seven(7) Councillors. In the Chief & Council election of February 11, 2022, John Kabatay Sr. was elected for position of Chief as well as the position of Councillor, he is able to keep both seats though he cannot fill his role as a Councillor as a voting member of Council. This does not mean that the candidate next on the list with the highest number of votes would have been declared to be elected. Instead, with INAC election rules, this translates into a 7 member Council for the 2022-2024 term.
