Chief and council

Chief and Seven Councillors (1 council per hundred members) are able to provide leadership to Seine River First Nation that oversee the work of the organization directly and indirectly where required through the Director of Services.

Please note that for the 2022-2020 term of the current Chief & Council, there is one Chief and six (6) Councillors.  In the Chief & Council election of January 17, 2020, Carrie L. Boshkaykin was elected for position of Chief as well as the position of Councillor, she is able to keep both seats though she cannot fill her role as a Councillor as a voting member of Council.  This does not mean that the candidate next on the list with the highest number of votes would have been declared to be elected.  Instead, with INAC election rules, this translates into a 6 member Council for the 2020-2022 term.
